Why would anyone email for it, you just posted the thing.

DOH!

Hope you like getting lots of spam, because posting your email address on
a newsgroup insures you will be getting lots of it.

I predict several offers of Viagra in your email soon.

Perhaps they are posting this one-time, and some folks might
want a copy of the chart next week and the week after. DOH!

I have had my real name, E-mail address, and phone number in my
USENET postings since 1984, and I haven't had any problems. My
ISP has active SPAM detection, so I don't see any of the SPAM
that is sent my way. Why deal with an issue that a computer
can solve for you?

Look at you, sticking up for the spam posters! Bet you fought against the
telemarketer do not call lists too.

That doesn't surprise anyone. But after I just explained WHY you don't do
that, how funny that you would BRAG about doing something stupid.

Hey, you forgot to post your mother's maiden name and social security number.

Can you PLEASE add me to your kill file now?

They were offering useful information in their posting and it was
on-topic for the group. That is hardly SPAM. I am sorry if I
offended you by supporting the do not call lists, whatever the
heck that has to do with satellite radio. Is telemarketing your
real day job?

How is honesty being stupid? I am far more likely to be hurt in
a car accident than from a USENET posting, so I am not too worried.

That is irrelevant. If someone wakes you up or interrupts your dinner to call
about some USEFUL information, it is STILL unwanted and only someone like you could
find a way to justify spam or telemarketers. Only someone like you can stick up
for scum like that.

Example:

"I will be perfectly honest, I cut off my arm today and then jumped off a cliff."

(Have I earned a place in your killfile yet?)

Only someone like you can object to an on-topic informative USENET
posting. It conformed to all USENET guidelines, so there is
absolutely no problem with it. Grow up & get a grip on reality.

So what? Telemarketers conform to laws too, but still only scum stick up for them
and what they do.

I don't care if people post and do NOT follow usenet guidelines. That is never an
issue with me at all. It has nothing to do with this.

Telemarketers and spammers are scum, and anyone that supports or defends them, are
as Bush would say, "helping the terrorists" and will be treated the same as the
terrorists.
